This project investigates the humanitarian impact of continued forcible transfer of the Bedouin communities living in the Jerusalem periphery in Palestine, and how impunity for violations of international law contributes to the deterioration of humanitarian vulnerabilities of these communities.
It brings together researchers from Queen's University Belfast, Al Quds University / Human Rights Clinic and Community Action Center, Trinity College Dublin and Liverpool John Moores University.
The project is structured into three interrelated strands, namely academic, policy-facing, and field (in-country), which taken together will develop the three core research objectives: understand the humanitarian vulnerabilities, analyse the effects of impunity for international law violations, and evaluate the role of international courts in improving humanitarian protection for the Palestinian Bedouin communities at risk.
